Reasons to be slacking

May 13, 2009

I haven’t really been slacking, I’ve been caught up in jelly, trying to get things done, changing the hang-on network and just trying to keep on top of things.

Skeinqueen and I have been working on a secret mission, dyeing yarn to sell as kits with patterns – all fine except writing detail and pattern isn’t my usual knitting style – but all is done. Patterns are being tested and here is a snippet of some of the test knits.

There are anarchy mittens, johnny rotten mittens, anarchy handwarmers and a few others that are waiting to make it into PDF form. The handwarmer pattern (without yarn) is available to purchase at my etsy shop but if you tell me a funny story in the comments here that makes me smile in my comments I’ll send you a free copy

That’s made me smile already

I love those mittens and when I can think of something funny to tell you I will, or I might just have to go and buy the pattern doh!

I just had to edit my post on Ravelry -I meant to say ‘Looking forward to seeing those who aren’t put off by dampness’ but put ‘my’ instead of ‘by’. It made me giggle but then I’ve got a silly dirty mind!

Argh! the pressure’s on and I’m deseprate for the handwarmer pattern…. umm… I just squeed and sighed at the thought of owning an Alabamawhirly pattern which could lead to alabamawhirly items and a touch of godliness. Only thing is that I’m currently sat in an open plan office and I’m supposed to be working…

MyTarpit was musing the other day about a full-on stretchy pantsuit with rollerboots for day to day wear, not for me, but for him you understand! I realised that he’d thought a little too long and too hard about this, when he announced that said outfit would only have a demi-cape though, as a full cape could be regarded as a little too dressy!!!!

I am giggling! only can’t think of anything halfway funny to make you laugh!…

It’s not funny, but you could reward my 19lb weight loss? I’ve got so much more to lose, but I’m supposed to reward myself along the way ;-)

other than that I’ll get back to you…

    Ok here goes: :-D

There was once a man and woman who had been married for more than 60 years.
They had shared everything. They had talked about everything. Nothing was
held back. Well, almost nothing. They had kept no secrets from each other
except that the little old woman had a shoe box in the top of her closet
that she had cautioned her husband never to open or ask her about.

For all of these years, he had never thought about the box, but one day the
little old woman got very sick and the doctor said she would not recover. In
trying to sort out their affairs, the old man took down the shoebox and took
it to his wife’s bedside. She agreed that it was time that he should know
what was in the box. When he opened it, he found two crocheted doilies and a
stack of money totaling $250,000. Holy Moley! He asked her about the
    contents.

“When we were to be married,” she started, “my grandmother told me the
secret of a happy marriage was to never argue. She told me that if I ever
got angry with you, I should just keep quiet and crochet a doily.” The old
man was so moved, he had to fight back tears. Only two precious doilies were
inside the box! She had only been angry with him two times in all those
years of living and loving. He almost burst with happiness. “Honey,” he
said, “that explains the doilies, but…. what about all this money? Where
    did it all come from?”

“Oh,” she said, “that’s the money I made from selling the doilies.
